New Mexico-based artist and researcher Nina Elder joined the faculty of Sierra Nevada University’s MFA-IA program this January just in time to teach at her first residency. While New Mexico is in her roots, Elder’s projects take her all over the United States connecting with people, place, and environment.
We are proud to present artist Steve Lambert as he creates a new installation for SNC’s Garage Door Gallery during the upcoming MFA-IA Summer Residency 2016 at Lake Tahoe.
Co-curated by Jared Stanley and Sarah Lillegard, the exhibition will span the Sierra Nevada College campus in the Garage Door Gallery, Tahoe Gallery and Poetry Center. The Plain Sense of Things will be on display for investigations and interactions from Dec. 14, 2015 – Jan. 29, 2016. A curator talk will be held Wed. Jan. 6, 7-9pm and the closing reception will be Thur. Jan. 28, 2016 5-7pm both in the Holman Arts & Media Center.
We had an excellent turnout for our Embodied Place: Observations and Notations closing reception and panel discussion on February 27th, 2015. Visitors flooded the galleries and there was standing room only for the panel, which took place directly after the opening in the Holman Arts and Media building on the SNC campus. Read More
