We are proud to present artist Steve Lambert as he creates a new installation for SNC’s Garage Door Gallery during the upcoming MFA-IA Summer Residency 2016 at Lake Tahoe.

The Co-op Bar & Café will create a community space for students and harness money for their projects in the form of a co-operatively owned bar. Designed to take advantage of the geography of SNC, the Co-op profits from easy access to snacks, coffee and alcohol. Investors can contribute food and bottles of liquor to be sold at the co-op. As a patron, you can purchase food, have a drink at the end of the day, and hang out with friends. At the same time you’re putting money back into the local arts community in Tahoe. At the end of the show, investors receive a portion of the profits and the rest will be made available to students for collective projects.

SNC’s MFA-IA Summer Priority Deadline is May 23rd, 2016. The low-res MFA-IA consists of two, intensive 10-day on-campus residencies during summer and winter sessions over the course of 2.5 years. During the fall and spring semesters, students work in their home studios and continue relationships with faculty mentors and fellow colleagues via email exchange, online seminars, blog contributions and other social media.
